FAQ
What do players need to bring?
Players should bring the following:
- Ball (pumped up)
- Something to drink
- Shin pads
- Soccer cleats or turf shoes (baseball, softball, football cleats are not allowed)
Players should wear:
- Returning CVYSA players should wear their black training kit
- New players should wear all black, soccer appropriate clothing
Where do players check-in?
All new players should check-in at the designated check-in location to receive their tryout number. The exact location will be emailed closer to the date of tryouts.
Returning CVYSA players who registered online may report straight to their field assignment and check-in at the field with the lead coach.
Returning CVYSA who DID NOT register online must check in at the CVYSA office before going to their assigned field.
Do players have to go to both days of tryouts?
It is expected that all players attend both days to allow coaches optimal time to evaluate all players.
However, should there be any issues with attending both days, please contact a member of the CVYSA staff (coach or Director) to let them know ASAP.
What if my player is injured, sick, or on vacation?
Players who are unable to make it due to injury, sickness, or vacation should contact CVYSA staff to arrange a date for an additional tryout. Please note - we cannot guarantee roster spots will still be available at the conlusion of our tryouts.
Returning CVYSA players should contact their coach from the 25/26 season to make arrangements.
What tryout should I attend if I played up an age group in the 25/26 season?
All players should plan on attending the tryout for their age group for the 26/27 season.
CVYSA staff will communicate with any returning players who should attend a different tryout if neccessary.
When do we find out if our player made a team?
Team invites will start to be sent out ~48 hours after the conclusion of the second day of tryouts.
Are spectators allowed?
Spectators are welcome, but we ask that all spectators stay outside of the turf fields. This includes the space between Fields 9 and 10.
Fields will have signs of what areas are for coaches and players only.
