CVYSA Directors of Coaching

Jeff Schellenberger has nearly 30 years of soccer coaching experience, ranging from coaching young teams to high school as well as college. Jeff played soccer in high school in Pennsylvania. He attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA where he played on the soccer team all four years as the goal keeper. He earned a B.A. in Psychology and then went on to earn a Masters in Education at Temple University in Philadelphia. The following is a summary of his years of coaching experience:

 

Assistant Technical Director of Coaching Education and Player Development October 2007 – May 2009
North Carolina Youth Soccer Association, Greensboro, NC
Responsibilities: Teach State level coaching education courses, develop State GK Module, Assist in administration of: ODP Teams, U10 Academy Program (developed U10 Academy Manual), Recreation (Sideline Beacon Editor) and USYS National Youth License. Develop age appropriate training programs for various abilities. Coordinate coaching education programming for Southern Soccer Show. Provide clinics throughout the state.

Responsibilities: lead the entire N.C.A.A. Division II or Division III Soccer program, coach and counsel student athletes involved in the program, recruit perspective student athletes, conduct fundraisers, direct public and alumni relations, and run camps and indoor soccer tournaments.

Responsibilities: Create a Peer Education Program for our Athletic Teams in conjunction with the Heath & Wellness and Counseling Center and Sports Medicine. Select, Train, and Advise Student Athlete Mentors.

EPYSA Staff Coach /Keeper Coach September 1987- September 2007
Horsham, PA
Staff Coach, instruct adult coaching courses at the state level, assist in training state soccer teams. Act as Keeper instructor for Boys ODP.

Reading Rage Staff Coach January 2004 –December ‘07
Reading, PA
First Head Coach of U20 Super Y League Women’s Team. Scout, recruit, train and develop a new club program for the top women’s players in the area.

High School Soccer Coach September 1991-June 2004
Schuylkill Valley School District, Leesport, PA
Responsibilities: direct the girl’s soccer program, choose additional soccer staff, advise the club program, and organize camps and coaching clinics.
